Decades after suburban flight and racial divide rendered many of Homewood’s beautiful houses almost worthless, there are signs of hope. Everyday Cafe is the neighborhood’s first coffee shop, serving up good drinks and tasty pastries. Nearby, developers are about to break ground on new homes.

The partnership that happens between faith-based communities, developers, and the neighborhood itself is a great model to see restoration occur.
– Mayor Bill Peduto

We are in the midst of building 150 houses here in Homewood, which is a $50 million development, probably the largest investment in Homewood in a hundred years.
– Councilman Rev. Ricky Burgess
