Decades after suburban flight and racial divide rendered many of Homewood’s beautiful houses almost worthless, there are signs of hope. Everyday Cafe is the neighborhood’s first coffee shop, serving up good drinks and tasty pastries. Nearby, developers are about to break ground on new homes.
The partnership that happens between faith-based communities, developers, and the neighborhood itself is a great model to see restoration occur.
